Day 04 · the man's side

The Law of the Purview — the Watchtower

His weapon

The long sight

His post

In the tower, seeing further than the men below

The charge

Purview is jurisdiction — what a man may rightly see and rule. He climbs above the day's noise to see the field: where his trade is going, where his son is drifting, where the ground is soft.

A lord who never climbs the tower is only reacting. He is being governed by whatever arrives at the wall.

The watch — what it looks like when he skips this day

Ruling from inside the noise, so the far thing arrives as a surprise.

His oath

I will see the field before I command it.

The other side of the mirror

On the women's side this same day is The Law of Purview, and its stone is Rutilated Quartz. Same law, same order — she strings it, he sets it in stone.
