Day 05 · the man's side

The Law of the Poise — the Steady Hand

His weapon

The unshaken grip

His post

In the room where it went wrong

The charge

Poise in a man is not calm feelings; it is a steady hand while the situation is not steady. His household reads his hands before it hears his words. A shaking lord makes a shaking house.

So he trains the pause: breath, one question, then speech. What he refuses to do quickly, he keeps the right to do well.

The watch — what it looks like when he skips this day

Force used where composure was required — and paid for with respect.

His oath

My hand is steady before my mouth is open.

The other side of the mirror

On the women's side this same day is The Law of Poise, and its stone is Blue Lace Agate. Same law, same order — she strings it, he sets it in stone.
