Day 24 · the man's side

The Law of the Passion — the Fire in the Forge

His weapon

The bellows

His post

At the coals, keeping heat under the steel

The charge

Passion is heat with a container. In the forge it makes blades; loose in the house it burns furniture. A lord keeps his fire in iron: appetite, temper, ambition, desire — all under the trade, the wife, the vow.

A man with no fire is not safe; he is only cold. The virtue is containment, not absence.

The watch — what it looks like when he skips this day

Heat spilled out of the forge, and a family stepping around the burn.

His oath

My fire stays in the forge where it makes something.

The other side of the mirror

On the women's side this same day is The Law of Passion, and its stone is Rhodochrosite. Same law, same order — she strings it, he sets it in stone.
