Day 30 · the man's side

The Law of the Perpetuality — the House That Outlives Him

His weapon

The cornerstone with a name on it

His post

At the foundation, thinking in generations

The charge

The last law is the reason for the other twenty-nine. A lord builds what will still stand when he is not in the room — a trade a son can take, a marriage that taught, a guild that keeps the standard, a name that means something at a gate he will never walk through.

This is the mirror of the strand of pearls: hers strings women together across a table; his sets stone on stone across generations. Same increase. Different hands.

The watch — what it looks like when he skips this day

A life that worked, and ended with him.

His oath

I build what outlives me.

The other side of the mirror

On the women's side this same day is The Law of Perpetuality, and its stone is Pearl. Same law, same order — she strings it, he sets it in stone.
