The charge
No lord builds by mood. He builds by a drawing, because men will live inside what he draws — a wife, sons, daughters, a table, a trade. A guess costs him twice: once to build it, once to tear it down in front of the people who trusted the first version.
So he draws first. One line the whole house stands on, said plainly enough that a boy could repeat it. Then he lays stone only where the line says stone.
